Davi Lucca visits Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr.

This Wednesday 17th, the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. received a special visit from Davi Lucca. Accompanied by his mother, Carol Dantas, Davi can get a closer look at the work developed by the project that serves around 2,000 young people aged from 7 to 18 and their families in Praia Grande, and which has his father, Neymar Jr. gives his name for.

Davi spent the morning at INJR and attended some of the educational classes alongside the children, by whom he was received with great affection, joy and friendship. In the classrooms, he practiced French, English, Spanish, played with the pieces in the Robotics room and even learned a few words in Brazilian Sign Language. On the field, it was time to have fun and score some goals with the kids who were in soccer class.

On the blackboard that keeps the signatures of the personalities who have already passed through the INJR, Neymar Jr.’s handwriting, which leaves the message: “my most beautiful goal was that!”, gained a complement: Davi left it signed next to his father “I have a lot of proud of that goal”. And he explains why he thinks the Instituto was, in fact, the best performance of his father. “The Instituto was my father’s best goal because it was something he did to help people, because it gives children the opportunity to have a different life. He wants to give children an opportunity to dream,” says Davi.

For Carol, it’s very important that her son have contact with the social project and understands, from an early age, what the INJR’s work is. “What a beautiful place! I always tell Davi that he has to give a lot of value to everything. And his father is making sure that the children who would probably not have this opportunity to experience all this, to learn all this, have this opportunity to learn, to know. These children would often have neither the opportunity nor the incentive to have all this. It’s too beautiful, they’re building wonderful new stories, bright new futures,” shares Carol.

Alongside his mother, Davi reinforces that, for him, having the notion of the existing social contrast was also important. “I understood that I have to give a lot of value to what I have and what they give me, and I will always be proud of what my father created”. Close to his 11th birthday, the visit to the Instituto made Davi understand better how a social project works in society. “I understand that a social project is to give people a better life opportunity. People who don’t have a lot of opportunity to be who they want to be and dream, can’t get out of that box they’re in. That’s why I think the Instituto is a very good place to develop and I want this to continue for the rest of eternity”, he explains in his words.

The contact with the children also encouraged Davi to think about how to maintain the family legacy with Instituto Neymar Jr. “In the future, when I have my job, I wish I can help here. And I hope that the Instituto will remain here until my grandchildren, great-grandchildren and that it never disappears”.

Davi felt at home in the Instituto’s classrooms and fiel and, when it was time to leave, he even wanted to spend the rest of the day playing with the students. “Spending the day here was really cool because I met a lot of people, I made friends, and it’s a really nice place to stay. I liked it here, if I could I would stay a little longer”, says Davi with a smile on his face. And, for the new friends he has made, he leaves the message: “Today I spent a day at the Instituto Neymar and I wanted to tell you to take advantage of this opportunity you have to learn, to be a very good person in the future. May you follow the right path in life. And the next time I come, I’m going to learn French so I can talk to you guys, okay?”
