2nd semester of classes begins at Instituto Neymar Jr.

The last Tuesday (26) of July marked the return of classes at Instituto Neymar Jr. After two weeks of vacation, the students and the faculty of the project returned to the INJR for the beginning of the second semester of the year 2022 and to the lesson planning developed by the professors of the educational and sports areas.

French teacher Bárbara do Carmo Faria dos Santos says that, for the next few months, the intention is to include students’ daily lives in learning to facilitate the understanding of languages and subjects. “What we seek to bring are the experiences, to bring a little about everyday life in another language, trying to show another culture. And always showing that they are capable, that it is not difficult, that it is possible, and that we are here, obviously, to help them in any way possible”.

Bárbara wants the students to take advantage of all the knowledge that the Institute has to offer in this new stage. “I hope they come with enough strength, enough will to study. May they bring many doubts, may they come willing to learn, because we are here to help them, to show them the various possibilities”, he says.

According to sports teacher Luiz Felipe Brandão Marques, the moment of welcoming students after the holidays is always very happy. “They really like being here. They are always very happy, they are always very affectionate. I really like the closeness we have with them”. There are many plans to entertain the kids in the second semester: “On the field, we play the soccer championship. In the pool we also have a swimming championship, there is a judo belt change. There are several cool activities that we prepared for them and we hope they have a lot of fun, that they are happy, that they develop and that they learn the values of the Institute”, comments Brandão.

The teacher also reinforced the importance of sport in children’s development. “Sport helps them from all sides. Not only in socializing, but also in motor coordination and respect for the rules”, he concludes.

For Elisângela Feitosa, an English teacher, the students were missed. She said that the excitement for the reunion comes from both sides: students and teachers. For her, one of the important points to win the attention of the children is the fun way of learning used by the teachers of the project. “We prepared a lot of content, we prepared very interactive things for them. Here at the Institute we learn by playing and this second semester will be no different. We were very excited and eager to come back, and so were they, I’m sure.”

Student Laura Lima de Oliveira, 12, was eager to return. “The holidays are good, but coming back, seeing friends, is much better. It’s been really cool, fun.” For the second semester, she wants to find new opportunities. “I hope it will be very productive and that we will learn a lot of new things. I think that is the intention of the Institute”, comments Laura.

For student Rihanna Rodrigues, 12, what she missed most during the holidays were basketball, English and French classes; your favorites. Rihanna also says that the teachers were also missed in those two weeks. “I really missed the people here too. The teachers are very attentive, very polite. I missed the sports and educational classes too. I think this is very important, because in the future I’m going to need everything I’m learning here and I have a lot of opportunities here”, completes the student.

The Institute begins another semester with the aim of opening doors and offering new opportunities for students and their families, using education and social transformation as the main pillars of development.
