Instituto Neymar Jr. and Above launch breast cancer prevention movement

The Neymar Jr. Institute and the antiperspirant brand Above launch this Friday (15th) a national movement to prevent and fight breast cancer. #AmorAoPeito will bring together celebrities, including player Neymar Jr. and actress Ana Furtado, influencers and even Cristo Redentor, which will be illuminated with the campaign symbol on the nights of the 18th, 19th and 20th, in celebration of the 90th anniversary of monument and the Pink October.

The movement aims to promote self-care and prevention. Therefore, the campaign symbol is a representation of breast self-examination. The index and middle fingers, used in the touch examination, gained the shape of the letter A, associated with the message of alert, attention, self-examination and love. A circle with a prominent central point refers to the breast. “This symbol represents a gesture of love, Amor ao Peito. But it does not only represent self-examination, it also speaks of the love we feel for all the women who have suffered and are suffering from this disease”, explains Gustavo Malucelli Bacila, CEO of Baston Aerossóis, manufacturer of Above.

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, one in four women worldwide has breast cancer. In Brazil, 29% of newly diagnosed cases of cancer in women are breast cancer. Therefore, Above joined the Neymar Jr. Institute to promote this movement of care, affection and protection.

In addition to Neymar Jr. and Ana Furtado, the movement will feature actresses Vera Fischer, Cléo Pires and Sheron Menezzes, ex-BBB Camilla de Lucas and singers Luisa Sonza, Naiara Azevedo, Joelma, Ludmila, Lore Improta, Pocah and Solange Almeida. The campaign will also have the participation of 30 micro-influencers throughout Brazil and 500 insiders from Curitiba, Porto Alegre, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Belo Horizonte.

Christ the Redeemer, which this month celebrates 90 years, joins the movement from the night of the 18th, when it will be lit in pink, with the campaign symbol, in a mapped projection that will receive messages of care, prevention, faith and self-examination. The word Above will appear as an acrostic of the words Love, Kindness, Prayer, Life and Examination.

“We are a personal care brand. Our commitment is to promote people’s well-being, democratizing access to high quality products at affordable prices. This movement transmits these values of the brand, encouraging in women the importance of self-care, empowerment and taking care of those they love the most”, highlights the CEO of Baston.

The lighting of Cristo Redentor, Brazil’s main tourist attraction, will be inaugurated in a ceremony for guests with the participation of actress and presenter Ana Furtado, godmother of the action, who donated her fees to two institutions specialized in caring for cancer patients: the Hospital do Amor (Barretos Cancer Hospital) and the Protea Institute. In return, Above will donate R$100,000 in products to both entities.

On the 18th, the Christ will be illuminated from 9 pm to 10 pm. On the 19th and 20th, the projection will be carried out from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Ana Furtado will also star in the film that the movement #AmorAoPeito broadcasts on national television, during the break of Jornal Nacional, on TV Globo, on the night of October 20th.
